What goes around comes around. I believe it was the wisest man who ever lived, the son of King David, Solomon, who said in Proverbs; "There's nothing new under the sun". If secular history and the bible are correct, are we on the heels of national disaster and self destruction? The secular indications alone point to the final stage of our nation.
“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it” – George Santayana. What a brilliant observation of history for those of us who graduated from the 6th grade, twice at just twenty-one years old. Now that you have my credentials, please read the following irrevocable historical facts. Because then you will realize exactly where America is today and our imminent rapid demise.
Like most organisms, nations also have a life cycle. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been about two hundred years. All nations have followed a cycle: (1) The life cycle of nations from bondage to spiritual faith. (2) From spiritual faith to great courage. (3) From courage to liberty. (4) From liberty to abundance. (5) From abundance to complacency. (6) From complacency to apathy. (7) From apathy to dependency. (8) From dependency back again into bondage.1 Where do you suppose the United States of America is today, number eight maybe? Great civilizations always follow another five step pattern that dooms them:
1. The undermining of the dignity and sanctity of the home as the basis for human society.2
2. Higher and higher taxes and the spending of public money for free bread and circuses for the populace.
3. The mad craze for pleasure; sports becoming every year more exciting, more brutal, more immoral.
4. The building of great armaments when the real enemy was within: the decay of individual responsibility.
5. The decay of religion; faith fading into mere form, losing touch with life, losing power to guide the people.
Boy, I could write a doctoral thesis on all five of these patterns. From the institution of welfare that removed the father from the home to the popularization of mixed martial arts (MMA) and bare knuckle boxing. But I can't write a doctoral thesis at the moment because I didn't go to medical school, just first aid classes.
It was that presidential election spoiler candidate, Independent Ross Perot who gave U.S. Clinton that said, to paraphrase, “We have got to stop sending jobs overseas. It's pretty simple… there will be a giant sucking sound going south...” A successful and smart man indeed.
Well I beg to differ a bit, they went and are going globally North, South, East and West. As a side note, I hate it trying to get someone live on the telephone with a problem after going through a menu list the length of my arm and waiting thirty minutes or more. To be connected to a person overseas with an accent so thick you can cut it with a knife as continue to ask, “can you repeat that, can you repeat that?” I'm sure you've been there and done that.
So how did we get to the point of collapse and where we are no longer the worlds leading manufacturer of the world and produce very little? Ready for another doctoral thesis are you, see above why not? If you've read this far, your eyes are probably barely open, or you're wondering what kind of drugs I'm on. So being the compassionate blogger I am, I'm going to just briefly throw out some words.
Corporate greed and the bottom line, the Federal Reserve system, individual greed, trade unions, liberals, wages and benefits, globalization, NAFTA, GATT, World Trade Organization (WTO), the United Nations (U.N.), lobbyists to name a few, and spare my only two eager blog readers, my uncle Shirley and aunt Frank.
America was founded on a passion for freedom accompanied by an ethic of personal responsibility and accountability. Passive entitlements have now replaced the active pursuit of achievement. A socialist tide continues to drag us toward the plundering of the productive by the unaccountable.
Now let's visit one of my blog's sponsors and see if he has anything to say?
The deliberations of the Constitutional Convention of 1787 were held in strict secrecy. Consequently, anxious citizens gathered outside Independence Hall when the proceedings ended in order to learn what had been produced behind closed doors. The answer was provided immediately. A Mrs. Powel of Philadelphia asked Benjamin Franklin, “Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?” With no hesitation whatsoever, Franklin responded, “A republic, if you can keep it.” (Benjamin Franklin)
Why do politicians and the controlled news media keep pushing down our throats their agenda that we are a Democracy (mob rule)? We are not a democracy, we are a Constitutional Republic. There's a huge difference between them!! Please notice the importance of my double exclamation mark! Back to the subject.
Now since man is naturally inclined to avoid pain – and since labor is pain in itself – it follows that men will resort to plunder whenever plunder is easier than work. History shows quite clearly and under these conditions, neither religion nor morality can stop it. Plunder stops when it becomes more painful and more dangerous than labor.3
By now there should be little doubt about the historical position we find ourselves and the United States of America in. Even more famous quotes ladies and gentlemen, “history repeats itself and there is nothing new under the sun”.
Okay class, enough with all this boring history stuff, let's finally move on to the much anticipated summary, and is there anything we can do individually and as a nation to reverse course. But first we need to hear from another one of our fine blog sponsors. I sincerely hope you visit and subscribe to all our fine sponsors.
God who gave us life gave us liberty. And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are of the Gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that His justice cannot sleep forever” - Thomas Jefferson.
Americans should desperately be asking this question: what can we do to reverse course and restore America to the nation our Founding Fathers bequeathed U.S. That from our foundation of our country, hundreds of thousands of Americans gave their last measure of self for their families and the American experiment of freedom. The millions of Americans who suffered and are suffering a life time of disfigurement, loss of limb(s), hearing and vision, mental disorders and lost the ability to lead a normal life unimpaired. Literally the tens of millions of widows and orphans left behind to fend for themselves with the loss of the brave American Soldier, Sailor and Marine. God bless our troops and their families!
What a great price we have paid for our nation just to squander it all away in the name of greed, power and political correctness!
All great nations have fallen, this bares repeating again, ALL great nations have fallen, and in our arrogance we don't believe this will happen to U.S. Our own citizens are oblivious to the rapid and devastating moral and fiscal Armageddon perpetrated by our government occurring right in front of their noses? Most do not even care based on the percentage of the eligible voters that don't exercise their right to vote.
Yeah, “hope and change”, how's that working out for ya?
As I step off my soapbox podium, and in my most humble frank opinion, there is only one possible way to escape the judgment to surely come, and the fall of the greatest nation that once lived.
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land” 2 Chron. 7: 14.
God said it, I believe it, enough said.
